Learn how to personalize your social feed on your Empuls account as an end user.

Updated over a month ago

Your Empuls feed is customizable to show you content most relevant to you. Personalization keeps you connected to what matters.

Before You Begin

You need an active Empuls account. Your feed automatically shows some content, but customization enhances your experience significantly.

Understanding Your Feed

Your Empuls feed combines:

  • Posts from Groups You've Joined — Content from communities you're part of.

  • Recognition Shared in Groups — Recognitions colleagues share in groups.

  • Posts from Your Network — Updates from colleagues you follow.

  • Company Announcements — Important organizational updates and news.

  • Suggestions — Content from colleagues and groups you might be interested in.

Follow the steps below to personalize your feed:

Step 1: Navigate to the Home Page

Log in to Empuls and go to the Home Page to access your social feed.

Step 2: Open Feed Customization

  • Locate the My Circle filter at the top-right corner of the feed.

  • By default, the feed is set to My Circle, showing content from your selected connections.

Step 3: Customize Your Feed

  • My Circle: Posts from your selected connections.

    • Click the Pen Icon next to My Circle.

    • Filter the feed by Department, Cost Center, Business Unit, Location.

    • Choose filters (groups, individuals, or topics) and click Save.

    • Example combinations:

      • San Francisco + Engineering BU = local engineering updates

      • New York + Sales department = local sales team content

      • Engineering BU + Product Management = cross-functional collaboration

  • Everything: See all posts across your organization.

  • Business Unit: View posts from your team or department.

Step 4: Filter the feed

Use the filter icon to narrow down your feed. From the dropdown, you can choose to view specific updates like birthdays, new joiners, anniversaries, posts, polls, leaderboards, or recognitions. The feed will then display only the selected category.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Click Save to apply your selection. Your feed will refresh with the new settings.

What is the difference between My Circle, Everything, and Business Unit views?

My Circle shows content from your selected connections only. Everything shows all posts across your organisation. Business Unit narrows the feed to your specific team or department.

How do I change who appears in My Circle?

Click the pen icon next to My Circle at the top-right of your feed. Filter by Department, Cost Center, Business Unit, or Location, then click Save.

Can I filter the feed to show only a specific type of content?

Yes — use the filter icon to select a category such as birthdays, new joiners, anniversaries, posts, polls, leaderboards, or recognitions. The feed updates to show only that type.

Will my feed preferences be saved for next time?

Yes — click Save after making your selections and your preferences will apply each time you return.

Can I switch between feed views?

Yes — toggle between My Circle, Everything, and Business Unit at any time from the top of your feed.

Troubleshooting

  • Feed is empty — Check that your My Circle filters aren't too narrow. Switch to Everything to see if content appears. If still empty, verify colleagues in your organisation have been posting.

  • Not seeing content from a specific team or location - Open My Circle settings using the pen icon and confirm the correct Department, Cost Center, Business Unit, or Location is selected. Click Save and refresh.

  • Feed filter isn't working — Click the filter icon, confirm only the category you want is selected, and click Save. If it still doesn't update, try logging out and back in.

  • My Circle shows people I don't work with-— Click the pen icon next to My Circle, update your filters to reflect your actual team or location, and save

  • Feed looks the same after saving — Refresh the page after clicking Save. If changes still don't appear, clear your browser cache and reload.
