Recognitions Approvals - For Jury Awards

Learn how to rate nominations as a Jury for Jury-based awards

Updated this week

Overview

The Jury Awards module is designed for high-impact recognitions that require a neutral panel of experts to evaluate nominations. By involving a "Jury," organizations ensure that prestigious awards are granted based on merit, data-driven insights, and consistent criteria, rather than peer popularity alone.

What is a Jury Award?

A Jury Award is a specialized recognition category where final winners are decided by a designated group of moderators or "Jurors." While a standard recognition may be approved by a single manager, a Jury Award undergoes a rigorous vetting process. This often includes a first-level approval followed by a Jury evaluation phase, where submissions are rated on a scale (e.g., 1–5) based on specific "question-level" criteria or core value alignment.

Accessing Jury Award Nominations

To begin reviewing nominations, follow these navigation steps:

  • Navigate to Recognitions > Recognitions Approvals section in the main sidebar.

  • Click on "View all nominations" for viewing all the active Jury awards and the nominations for them.

  • View a list of all active award categories (e.g., "The Avengers Award").

  • Click on the specific award you wish to moderate or rate as a Jury.

Step 1: Filter and Organize Your View

Before you begin rating, use the advanced filtering system to organize your workspace. This is especially helpful for managing large volumes of nominations.

  • Filter by Nominee: Sort by User, Designation, Department, Location, Business Unit, Grade, or Cost Center.

  • Filter by Nominator: View submissions based on the users, Department, Designation, Cost Center, Business Unit, Location or Grade.

  • Sort Logic: Use the dropdown menu to display Unrated nominations first, or sort by Latest Submissions or Highest Rated.

Step 2: Review Nomination Details

Click on an individual nomination to open the detailed view. In this screen, you can see the "story" behind the nomination:

  • Nomination History: See exactly who nominated the employee and view the comments from the First Level Approval.

  • Supporting Evidence: Review the citation provided and any answers to mandatory award questions.

Step 3: Assign a Jury Rating

Once you have evaluated the merits of the nomination, you must provide your official Jury score:

  1. Select Rating: Choose a score on the 1 to 5 scale provided in the rating panel.

  2. Finalize: Click Save. Your rating is immediately reflected in the system. The total score will determine the final ranking of the nominee against others in the same Jury Award category.
