Hidden Plans

Learn more about hidden plans

Updated this week

What is a Hidden Plan?

A Hidden Plan is a Plan that is not visible to end users on the mobile app.
Admin users can still view and use the Plan for calculations, but it will not appear in the user’s dashboard or Plan list.

Why is the Hidden Plan feature needed?

In many organizations, incentive structures involve multiple KPIs—each calculated in separate Plans. These Plans often serve only as intermediate calculations that feed into a final, user-facing incentive Plan.

Showing all internal Plans to users can:

  • Create unnecessary confusion

  • Overwhelm them with irrelevant information

  • Make the incentive structure seem more complex than it is

Example

A user’s final incentive may be the sum of:

  • Incentive based on Achievement %, and

  • Incentive based on Efficiency %

These components may require separate logic and separate Plans to compute.
However, the user only needs to see the final total reward, not the underlying calculations.

In such cases, the internal Plans for Achievement and Efficiency can be hidden, while the final Plan remains visible.

Note: Even if a Plan is hidden, the platform still generates the View for it. This allows the Plan to be used in cascading or other internal logic.

How to Hide a Plan

Hiding a Plan is simple and can be done during Plan setup.

Steps to use the feature

Step 1: Open the Plan you are creating.

Step 2: Navigate to the Settings tab (3rd tab).

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Check the box labeled Hide this Plan.

  • Checked → Plan is hidden from end users

  • Unchecked → Plan is visible to the relevant users

  • You cannot hide or unhide a Plan after it is published.

  • Visibility changes are only allowed while the Plan is still in Draft.

User Interface

  • Please note that it is not possible to hide/unhide a Plan after it has been published.

  • The changes can only be made if the Plan has not been published yet.

Analytics & Usage Insights

These metrics help understand how the Hidden Plan feature is being adopted:

  • Time to First Interaction

    • Very quick—users typically understand and apply the feature immediately.

    • The UI label is self-explanatory.

  • Feature Usage Frequency

    • Used often for internal calculation-only Plans, especially in complex structures.

  • Time Spent Using the Feature

    • Minimal; typically just a check/uncheck action.

Abandonment Rate

  • None. The feature is simple to use and frequently required.
