Getting Started
The Empuls app lives directly within your Google Chat interface, allowing you to appreciate teammates without switching applications.
Locating the App: Find Empuls Demo (or your company's Empuls app name) under the Apps section in your Google Chat sidebar.
Interaction Mode: You can interact with the bot through direct messages (DMs) or by adding the app to specific Spaces for public recognition.

1. How to Appreciate a Peer
Send a "Recognition Alert" to acknowledge a colleague's outstanding work.
Step 1: Open the Action Menu: In the chat bar, click the + (Plus) icon and select Appreciate.
Step 2: Select the Recipient: An "Elevate" dialog box will appear. Click the "Appreciate" dropdown and select a teammate (e.g., Kenneth Allen).
Step 3: Choose an Award or Core Value: Select an award type or align your appreciation with company goals by selecting a company hashtag that represents their work (e.g., #CustomerFocus, #Innovation, or #Integrity).
Step 4: Add Words of Praise: Write a personal message detailing why you are giving this recognition. Highlighting specific impacts helps strengthen the connection.
Step 5: Send the Recognition: Click Appreciate. The recognition is posted publicly on Empuls twonhall, with an banner, sender/recipient details, or the associated Core Value graphic.
2. How to Nominate
Recognize significant achievements by assigning specific awards or nominating peers for company-wide honors.
Step 1: Access the Menu: Open the Empuls menu via the + icon or slash command and select Appreciate
Step 2: Select the Recipient: Choose the colleague you wish to recognize from the dropdown list.
Step 3: Choose the Award Type: Select from preset company awards which require nomination. (e.g., "Sales Champion", "Employee of the Month").
Note: Certain awards may carry point values.
Step 4: Select the Approver: Using the drop-down menu select the approver.
Step 5: Provide Justification: Enter a detailed description of why the employee deserves this award or nomination.
Step 6: Submit: Click Send or Submit Nomination. Depending on your company's setup, awards may be posted immediately or routed to a manager for approval.

Empuls ensures you never miss a moment to celebrate or respond. Similar to the notification experience in MS Teams, Empuls delivers centralized alerts directly to your Google Chat and allows you to take action right from the message card:
Celebrate Milestones Instantly: When an automated announcement for a colleague's birthday or work anniversary pops up in your shared space, you don't need to open a separate app to celebrate. You can take action directly from the notification to instantly send a wish, congratulate them.
Respond to Real-Time Alerts: Receive immediate direct messages from the Empuls bot when you are recognized, awarded points, or nominated for an award. You can click directly on the buttons within these alerts to view your recognition details or jump straight to redeeming your points.
One-Click Action Reminders: Get gentle nudges to complete pending pulse surveys, approve team nominations, or welcome new hires. Interactive buttons right on the notification card let you complete these administrative tasks in seconds without leaving your chat window.
4. How to Redeem Points
Turn your earned recognition into tangible rewards directly from Google Chat.
Step 1: Access the Menu: Open the Empuls menu via the + icon or slash command and select Redeem.
Step 2: Access the Catalog: Click the Redeem Points button within the bot interface.
Step 3: Browse Rewards: Explore the vast rewards catalog, which includes digital gift cards, experiences, and merchandise.
Step 4: Claim Your Reward: Select your desired item, confirm the point deduction, and receive your digital reward instantly or via email.
